Blogging is a Moving Meditation.

BLOGGING as a MOVING MEDITATION: Liminality's thin passage untangles as it weaves, fits in the ineffable nooks and crannies of my heart's prayer wall, like the cracks in pavement, mile markers on the road, windblown whimsical napkin poems written in eyeliner.

Christmas Eve @ DnA's

Here's a lil peek at Derek and Amy's at Christmas Eve Shin Dig......... i left out the dancing pictures, however Derek shirt so matched the rose colour pink of the Living Room.... twas sweet! So- since much of the pic's are a blur- that was mostly do to the fact that all the lights were MOVING and drew a bunch of people over to walk down the drive to get a closer look. Amy made some seriously yummy homemade pizza (would put Andrew to shame!) - and had some lovely noshes. I did make this Date, Ginger, Walnut, Flax and Scottish Whiskey Bread... that went over rather well. Derek and Amy got a HOOT outta the mega sized bottle of wine (with functional quick draw on the trigger wine opener with all the bells and whistles.) Jenna was dressed in this amazingly fancy blue gown.. - that looked amazing when Derek added the strobe lighting (yes, he did that and played some 80's 4/4 beat disco music- we had some on-lookers, and phil did open the door for them to get a better peek!) We sang carols at Midnight to welcome in Christmas day.... and shared some Friggin over the top Scottish Single Malt that Jenna got me as a Christmas present.!!! Now that was yummy.... not to mention the delish.. Mulled Wine and Wassail that Amy made!! John and Caroline were there... and John almost smoked us out with the Frankincense and Myrrh that i brought to get the scent of the Tabernacle.
My sister came over Christmas Day- which was a first in about 20 years that we've been in the same state... only bummer was i got a migraine from HELL.... and couldn't get off the couch..... it hit about 11 in the morning and didn't let up till about 20 hours later. - even 2 days later, i'm still not feeling up to par. Have not had a migraine in about 13 years... so i was NOT happy! Over all it was a good first Christmas in Austin..
Blessings ya all..... well see what the New Year brings.

Christmas Prep and 1st Day of Chanukah

It seems God's up to some big things......... as the saying goes, "Everything is bigger in Texas" ( i tend to think that ... it's a Freudian Ed - takes- a - Piss.. contest most days, but none the less) G-d doesn't have those "issues" thankfully! So i've posted 2 pics... one is.... OBVIOUSLY a Christmas tree that's in some posh hotel that Caroline and i sauntered into last thursday. We pretended we were guests there, and walked about like we owned the place for a bit! (yes, i pulled a Derek!) The other one... is the SECRET CHRISTMAS PRESENT that i got for Derek and Amy (AKA DnA).... it's a bottle of wine that is Mickey D's super-sized version. (note the scale next to a "normal" sized bottle) The name on the bottle of wine is "LIBERTY SCHOOL" Cabernet Sauvignon, Paso Robles 2006- which is a larger than life prophetic utterance of what God wants to give us ... since we are Noble and Royal Heirs in this celestial Kingdom. I love the verse .... "Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is Liberty" 2 Corinthians 3:17.

It was a Costco special and my personal nic for that place of business is the "Nephilim Store" since it really is the Commercialism Giant of the land with Mega Sized everything. ( i don't want to think of the Carbon Footprint parts there...rather Sasquatchian i would presume) But... i like to buy in bulk cuz it saves some serious mullah and we have as a norm, more than just the two of us to feed. In any case, the bottle holds 4 bottles of wine in 1!!!!- more than a double portion of Blessing ... and that is the point.

G-d often speaks in symbols (see Derek's post @ the Bearable Light)--- and i soooo love that aspect of G-d!
Though Jesus came as a baby, it's kinda like the Tardis (bigger on the inside)- He held the G-d head in a form of vulnerability. Just like David and the Giant... (Nephilim) - David's authority in G-d is bigger than his earthly frame.

G-d's love is Bigger........... Bigger than our apparent issues, Bigger than our fears, Bigger than what we could ever imagine or think to behold. He is extravagant and lavishing in His unconditional love for us, and His desire is to see His creation, lavish back on Him and others in that type of scale.

So in this season of extreme - Think Big, Dream Big, Forgive Big, Love Big......... Be a symbol on the Earth.... it's a BIG Kingdom!

Doctor Who - Time Crash

Wonder what that would be like... to meet yourself in a different time and space... but we are eternal beings... bit of a head mash some days... but still..... i love paradoxes! Jesus is the biggest one... Angel of the Lord one minute, Saviour the next.. coming back again... the REAL TIME LORD!

Austin weather... ever changing!

So it was 74-75 degrees in the day, and by 5PM it dropped to 32 degrees! - and then we had snow. So i took pics cuz.... this is just a taste of how quick things change. I could say it comes close to human fickle hearts and that how it can go from warm and fuzzy to cold as ice. But i won't go there.... Just this Jersey girl was happy to see some white stuff land here and feeling the familiar of Northern Cold... and wishing to see the big Tree in Times Square! Perhaps... Perhaps..... we'll see.

Christmas Angst

I guess Holidays are hard for a lot of people, self included. Though God's blessed me with an amazing extended family of friends, it still is a difficult time. I know - i know ... it's za'posed to be all bells, lights and christmas carols ... and for the most part it is. Just that there seems to be that gnawing angst when family relationships are less than what they could be. Home has always been "where i hang my hat" so to speak, i left my home pretty young due to some shitty dynamics. I guess the holidays bring that back to surface, even though there has been a lot of heart healing along the way. But isn't that sorta the same on a Kingdom point of view... His kids still aren't getting along and have denominational issues. Getting every one in the same room can be tense and there can be some sibling rivalries and bickering. I do kinda wonder what Abba God thinks about the whole shin dig... well besides the point that i think God's still celebrating the Chanukah part of it... (we created the Christmas thingy) i've always wondered that if Christians would go back to celebrating Chanukah - we would have a 'lil more time to press into the season, rather than the build up to one big day, it could be more spread out, thus the love could be more spread about. My heart aches for all the broken relationships and spaces where hearts need a miracle touch. All the pressure of commercialism just adds to it... like their isn't enough already in life. I'm gonna press in a bit and touch what Austin holds as a new page to our journey. Hoping and praying that peace and joy sing louder than some of my hearts lament on other things. Shalom ya all

Thanksgiving fellowship.

Here are some pics from Thanksgiving... it really was a special time and the food was over the top (if i do say so myself) Amy cooked a HUGE Turkey and everyone brought something which was awesome! Felt good and rich with some really special people- John and Caroline, Brian and Whitney with their 3 boys, Amy and Derek, Paul and Jenna - (who is staying with us) Derek started things off by having everyone share a bit of bringing things to the table- which is a cool way of honoring each others part in the feast - i always love the way he brings in the choreography. All in all from 4pm to about 2am was rich and full- and i'm blessed.
